Dodson Lumber provides our customers with a complete offering of Engineered Wood Products (EWP). We carry the three major components of the Roseburg Framing System® in addition to TrimJoist’s open web truss system.

The Roseburg Framing System® offers one of the most complete framing packages available from a single manufacturing supplier today. We carry a full line of Roseburg I‐Joists, LVLs, Rim Board, and Hangers.

TrimJoist supplies us with an extremely well engineered open web truss that is easily trimmed and comes complete with a center duct chase. We stock TrimJoist products in two foot increments from 4’ to 28’.

Laminated Veneer Lumber (LVL), provides builders with several advantages over traditional lumber. LVL headers and beams are stiffer, stronger, and more consistent than their dimensional counterparts, allowing for easier handling and increased spans. Dodson Lumber carries Roseburg’s 2.0E RigidLam series (EWP Design Guide) in a variety of thickness and depths:

We sell LVL in lengths ranging from 12′ to 60′ and provide cut packs to accommodate any job site. Take advantage of our in-house EWP Specialist to customize your next order!

Did you know?
RigidLam LVL is coated with a wax-based moisture repellent sealer that is formulated specifically for LVL. It is applied to all six sides of the LVL during the manufacturing process. After the sealer dries, it is inert and clear in appearance.

I-Joists save builders time and money. Typically pre-cut in 2′ increments, I-Joists are shipped to the site ready to install. Because I-Joists can be cut and fastened with traditional framing tools and fasteners (no special tools are required), installation time is minimized. Additionally, I-Joists allow for greater joist spacing when compared traditional lumber (2×10 comparison, 2×12 comparison) – thereby reducing both piece requirements and costs associated with job-site handling. Dodson Lumber carries Roseburg’s RFPI Joists in 400, 70 and 90 series. Download the Roseburg EWP Design Guide for full details. We sell I-Joists in lengths ranging from 12′ to 60′ and provide cut packs to accommodate any job site. Take advantage of our in-house EWP Specialist to customize your next order!

Wood I-joists use up to 50% less wood fiber in their production than conventional lumber joists, allowing more efficient use of our natural resources.

As the name indicates, TrimJoist open web trusses are easily trimmed at the job-site, effectively eliminating the need for custom made floor trusses. The TrimJoist design also boasts a center duct chase (strut webbing) for plumbing, electrical and duct work. TrimJoist products are extremely well engineered and are available in two foot increments from 4′ to 28′. We stock 16″ depth but 11 7/8″, 14″, and 18″ are available through special order.Solid 2x joists are cheaper on a per unit basis. However, studies have shown that by the time culls, waste and labor are considered, a more superior TrimJoist floor system could have been installed.

Did you know?
Because TrimJoist products use 2×4 raw materials, the environmental impact is much smaller than the loss of large old-growth trees that are required for traditional joists. Approximately 35% of each TrimJoist is recycled material.

Rim Board provides quick floor system perimeter framing and is one of the most cost effective methods to properly transfer vertical and horizontal loads around the I-Joist and directly into the supporting walls.

Features and Benefits

  • Resists twisting, cupping, cracking and warping
  • Structural strength to transfer both vertical and lateral loads
  • 12′ lengths reduce the number of required joists and easy installation
  • Smooth stable nailing surface
  • No core voids and will not delaminate
