1.75-1.85 thickness-almost all pieces are over 1.8″. The pieces are 9 3/4″ to 9 7/8″ wide. We air-dried it, and all pieces have a moisture content of 12% or less. The pieces were all pulled by a WWPA grader, but I went through all of them personally when we took them off the sticks, and I put a few pieces in the #1&Btr. category that you will see below. It is beautiful, high-grade fiber. Here is the tally:

I went through all of the rough as we flat stacked it and pulled out anything that I wasn’t sure would make the higher grade. As you can see from the pictures, it’s a fantastic product as well. I separated a few pieces of 20′ that had some surface mold, as we had received them a few days before it was placed on sticks. The fuzz will plane off easily, but I will price them separately to ensure you come out well.

I have two items of 1×4 upper grade that I want to tell you about. We bought a truckload of 1×4 #2 & Btr Com from Yakama Forest Products out of White Swan, Wash.
Evidently, they ran up all their jacket boards and put them all together. They left all the upper grades in the run. I went through and pulled all the better out of it. There was a lot of C and D in the pieces. They were all machine-stamped with a #2 & Btr. Com grade stamp. This stock is 3/4″ thick.

The second item of 1×4 comes from the same mill that I got the rough 2″ uppers from. He ran up all his jacket boards and didn’t pull out any uppers. Again, I went through and pulled out all the high-grade. For some reason, he ran it thicker than 3/4″. It is almost 7/8″, and for that reason, some of the really good pieces didn’t completely clean up on the back side. The grade is fantastic and would work perfectly for any one face application, or could be planed down if needed to clean up the back a little better. Not all the pieces were that way, but I just wanted to mention that issue. I’m unsure whether the thickness is an advantage or a drawback.

I have enclosed some pictures of the unit of 16′ and also a picture of the caliper on the pieces (.835). It is some nice textured Arizona Pine, and I think it would make a beautiful ceiling or moulding pattern ( has a few small, well-placed knots on some of the pieces). We can discuss the price if you think it might fit. Both are excellent grades with a fair amount of C & Btr. in them.

I called Sierra-Pacific to get an idea of what some of these items were going for on the regular market. This will give us an idea, and I will definitely do better than what they are asking. Here are the numbers they gave me:

• 8/4 C&Btr. Rough PP – $6,000.00 mill+ $200.00 freight + 5% (300.00) = $6,500.00
• 8/4 Moulding Rough – $4,300.00 + $200.00 + $300.00 = $4,800.00
• 6/4 C & Better Rough PP – $4,300.00 mill + $200.00 freight + $300.00 = $4,800.00
• 6/4 Moulding Rough – $3,600.00 + $200.00 + $300.00 = $4,100.00
• 8/4 C & Better S2S and 8/4 Moulding S2S are the same prices as the Rough above and so was the Moulding S2S the same price as the Rough Moulding
• 1×4 C & Better S4S KD PP -we stock Sugar Pine in this item and have made several sales this year at $4,300.00
• 1×4 D Sel S4S KD PP – S-Pac was $1,800.00 mill, so would sell somewhere around $2,500.00
